My History with Running

I've been running for a little over a year now.  In that time, I have gotten better, increased my speed and endurance.  Things started a little slow, but by late spring I was regularly running in 5k's.

  • Marion Arts Festival
  • 5k4K9
  • Run or Dye
  • Thanksgiving in July
  • Sunset 5k
  • We Run Glow Run
  • St. Matt's Fall Festival
  • Pumpkin Fest
  • Return of the Turkey Trot
  • Last Race of the Year.
Those are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head!  As we begin 2015 I am already signed up for 4 races and plan to enter several more.  I have learned having events help me stay focused on training so that I am prepared for the race. 

A year ago, I was perfectly happy to run on the treadmill in my basement, now I will do just about anything to avoid being on the treadmill.  I live in the Midwest and it gets cold in the winter months, and there are days that I give in and use the treadmill.  It is torture to me, and I have never managed more than 5 miles on the treadmill.
